The International Baton Twirling Federation (IBTF) produces a bi-monthly newsletter featuring everything you need to know to be
up to date on the future of baton twirling. From rules to events, to who's who in the sport, you won't want to miss it.
In November 2013 a combined meeting of the World Baton Twirling Federation (WBTF) and World Federation of National Baton Twirling Associations (WFNBTA) resulted in the structure of a union to organize an umbrella organization named the International Baton Twirling Federation (IBTF). An Executive Committee, comprised of both organizations, was formed to define the new organization’s governmental structure.
The following officials were elected to positions: Sandi Wiemers, President; Beverly Johnson, Vice President; Jean Patrick Rousset, Vice President; Maurizio Chizzoli, Vice President; Jeff Johnson, Secretary General; Paul Rutten, Treasurer; Amy Arellano Williams and Moto Tsuchiya, Sport Administrators; Christine Bel, Paola DeMarchi, Darlene King, Dale White and Jackie Stewart, Technical Members; and Denise Pearse, Executive Committee Members at Large. The Executive created an initial project for the future by establishing a Grand Prix competition to be held August 10-11, 2015 in Abbotsford, British Columbia, Canada, where competitors from both organizations competed in Solo, Two Baton and Teams.
Since 2015, the IBTF also conducted the 2017 Grand Prix in Poreč, Croatia. The 2019 Grand Prix will be held August 9-11 in Limoges, France. New disciplines added for 2019 will be Duet and the Majorette group divisions of Traditional Corps, Parade Corps, Exhibition Corps, as well as an Open Corps division inviting non-members of IBTF.
